Jnanpith Award Recipient Dr Ravuri No More�


In what can be called as a black day for the world of poets and literature, the acclaimed Dr Ravuri Bharadwaja breathed his last after suffering from illness. His demise happened at the Care Hospital. It is heard that Dr Ravuri was having this illness from quite some time. ‘Pakudu Rallu’ and ‘Jeevana Samaram’ are considered two of his finest works and for the former, he was chosen as the recipient of the prestigious Jnanpith award for the year 2012. Dr Ravuri was respected for his intellectual thoughts and his philosophy towards life. He happens to be the third Telugu person to receive the famous Jnanpith after Viswanadha Satyanarayana and Dr C Narayan Reddy. Dr Bharadwaj was born in the year 1927 in Mogalur, Krishna District. Great Andhra expresses its heartfelt condolences to the family of Dr Ravuri.
